Frati Gelato

Every now and again, you come across an establishment that truly puts an artisan stamp on their craft. Every element and every ingredient is masterfully selected, producing a product that is absolutely delectable.  Such is the case with Frati Gelato. Owner, Dr. Anthony LuPriore, has followed his passion in presenting an authentic Italian delicacy. He takes a tremendous amount of pride and puts forth a product that is truly habit forming; a product that I had, until now, naively under estimated. I had tried gelato in the past and didn’t understand what the hype was about. It’s been made clear, that I hadn’t tried it done by a true artisan. Gelato, with a fraction of the fat and calories as ice cream, has such creaminess with amazingly intense flavors. None of those extra fat grams and calories are ever missed.  Every single bite bursts with intense flavor. And if you think Frati Gelato is a one hit wonder, you will find the same care and attention to detail that goes into the gelato you will also find in the panini sandwiches. Dr. Anthony Go for dessert and stay for a meal. Trust me when I say, you’ll want some gelato to take home. It is that good.   Frati Gelato also does events. Check them out.  Dr. Anthony LuPriore and his brother-in-law Ron, serve it with the warmest of hospitality.  They are located at 122 W Commonwealth in Fullerton. I guarantee you’ll be hooked.

  • The Market Grill Defies the Odds

With the reported 30% closure rate of all new restaurants the first year, The Market Grill has everything you would think should be restaurant suicide. The location is inside a, somewhat run-down, nearly obsolete neighborhood market. It's within a residential area and had it not come highly recommended, I would have sped by. The Mamonrovia_marketrket Grill has a few things going for it though.

In its relaxed but welcoming environment, It serves up not just an honest meal, but a meal that exudes passion. This family owned restaurant... [read full article]

  • The Journey Begins

la_skylineI am convinced that I had a say in where I was born geographically. In my over active imagination, I play out the “before life” conversation with my guide sounding something like a real estate agent advising me of my choices and it sounding something like, “well, you can go to this nice lovely young couple, beautiful spacious home, established community, good schools,” as I interrupt with, “where is it?” The response, “it’s in the midwest, with harsh winters and humid summers.” I quickly ask for option number...
